There are three dispensations in biblical history:
1.
Patriarchal Age
- God spoke to the head of the household and these men
conducted worship
according to God's instructions.
-
Genesis 8:20, 12:7-8.
2.
Mosaic Age
- God spoke to Moses and Moses instructed the
Israelites in proper worship.
Exodus 25: 1-2
David lived under the law of Moses and introduced music into
worship.
However, God later warned Israel about the noise in their
songs.
Amos 5:23, 6:5
3.
Christian Age
- Today, we must do everything in worship by the authority
of Christ
Colossians 3:17.
There are no scriptures in the New Testament
which authorize instrumental music IN WORSHIP.
To add instruments in worship,
we would defy God's warning about adding to His word or
diminishing from
His word. -
Deut. 4:2, Proverbs 30:6, Revelations 22:18
CHRISTIANS ARE COMMANDED TO SING: Ephesians 5:19-20,
Colossians 3:16
James 5:13, Hebrews 13: 15-16.
